Nofap rules – does it make sense to set rules?

I have summarized my Nofap Rules for you, I hope they help you:

Sensible rules for No Fap

  • Avoid porn completely, do not consume pornographic content in your own way (goal no. 1 at all times!)
  • You should also completely refrain from edging. (Edging is when you masturbate just before you orgasm, don’t do it at all, there are even people who watch porn, sorry, it’s like you masturbate to porn normally and orgasm – goal failed)
  • Refrain from masturbating, remembering that if you can’t help it, masturbating is 100 times better than watching porn. The main focus of the No Fap journey should always be to permanently ban porn from your life.
  • Try to ban all pornographic content from your life. There is a lot of soft porn content on most social media platforms, these are triggers and make it hard for you to resist.
  • If you accidentally and the emphasis is on accidentally come across pornographic content, turn off your device immediately, this does not count as a mistake, but you should turn away immediately so that no cravings arise.
  • Having sex with a person does not count as fapping and in my opinion it is very good to have sex while doing so, this will help you build a porn free life.
  • When it comes to the flatline, when you don’t feel any sexual attraction at all, don’t test whether your sexuality is still there. It’s still there, it’s normal for it to fade and this time will pass.

You often hear that a reboot takes 90 days, but I think that’s nonsense. Don’t look at the days you live abstinent from porn, but that you simply build up long-term strategies. No fap is the first step in personal development for most people, learn new things and then this journey will be all the more powerful.

Don’t make the mistake of sitting in your room and staring at the ceiling just to make the 90 days go by. That’s total nonsense, take small steps and change your world. Read books, meet people, go to the gym and create the life you’ve always dreamed of. No Fap is the turbo, it will feel amazing to know that you just don’t watch porn anymore. You’ll ask yourself, what’s so special about it anyway?

Let go of the idea that porn gives you anything in life. I used to tell myself that masturbating would keep me fit and young – total fantasies that only came about so that I could finally justify fapping to porn again. These thoughts come up just when it comes to the flatline, a phase where your libido completely plummets. We have also written an article about this, which is well worth reading.

No fap will teach you what it’s like to face uncomfortable situations in life. Because there will be hard times when you will doubt it, when the ceiling literally falls on your head. But you have to get through it to create the life you’ve always imagined.

  • Trust the process, that’s why it’s so important to join a closed community. Because you can see that other people are also affected and that you are not alone. Keep in mind that you are a good person who is going the right way, then No Fap will also be easier for you. I believe in you!

Habits that have done me and many other people a lot of good: Start meditating, even when the urge to feel this feeling comes up, read inspiring books, go to sports (especially team sports are a great choice) or meet friends.

And if you’ve relapsed, it doesn’t mean you’re a relapsing type, you’ve relapsed, it’s in the past and you’re focusing on now! It really helped me to feel myself in the now. How are you feeling right now? What are you grateful for, write it down. Love yourself as you are. Start to understand that you will make mistakes, but learn from them, that’s the most important thing. With every mistake you make, you’ll get better and eventually you’ll get to the point where you ask yourself: That was so hard all this time? It’s like a person who is overweight and doesn’t manage to go to the gym, but at some point they have acquired strategies and without exercise they just can’t do it anymore. And exactly the same applies to No Fap.

Enjoy the journey, that sounds strange at first, but if you simply enjoy the journey of personal development, it will eventually be fun and you will learn a lot about yourself.

And one thing I can already tell you is that you are a winner, because you are already dealing with the issue. You secretly believe in yourself and I think that’s great and needs to be said!
